Portugal Women’s Yoga Retreat
The Deep Exhale:
A four-night retreat in the mountains of the Algarve, created to help you step away from the pace of everyday life and reconnect with yourself through yoga, breathwork, meditation, nourishing food and time in nature.
20 - 24 July 2027
The Yoga
Is it right for you?
Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have an established practice, you are warmly welcomed here.
Rather than focusing on how things look, the invitation is to move in a way that helps you feel more connected to your body, your breath, and yourself.
For those who enjoy a stronger, more dynamic practice — there is space for that. For those seeking something slower and more restorative — that is equally held. Options are always offered, within a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
The only physical requirement is that you feel comfortable getting up and down from the floor with relative ease.
Throughout the week, you will experience a blend of:
– Embodied Vinyasa and deep stretch asana (posture) practices, balancing both yang and yin energies
– Opportunities to explore your practice more deeply through optional workshops
– Gentle hands-on guidance and soothing savasana assists
– Pranayama (breathwork) to support the nervous system and deepen your connection inward
This is a space to meet yourself exactly where you are — and to explore from there.
A Gentle Rhythm to
Each Day
Each day is thoughtfully held, with space for both structure and spaciousness.
Mornings begin slowly, often in silence, with meditation, breathwork, and an energising yoga practice to awaken the body and steady the mind. From there, we gather for nourishing meals, with time to rest, explore, or simply be.
Afternoons are intentionally open — whether that looks like time by the pool, connecting with others, journaling, or exploring.
As the day softens, we come back together for evening practice - slower, more restorative sessions designed to help you unwind, integrate, and reconnect.
This isn’t a schedule to keep up with, but a rhythm to drop into - one that supports you in receiving exactly what you need from the week.

There’s a gentle rhythm to the days, with practices and shared experiences balanced by time to rest, explore, connect or simply be. You’re invited to let go of expectations, move at your own pace and allow the experience to unfold naturally.

Our retreat is perfectly placed for you to experience the best of both worlds: the stillness of the surrounding mountains and the wild beauty of Portugal’s south coast. Whether you feel like exploring or simply following your curiosity, there’s plenty to discover beyond the retreat.
Here are a few ideas for making the most of your time in Portugal.
Explore the mountains
Just a 12-minute drive away, the charming mountain village of Monchique is full of winding cobbled streets, traditional cafés and independent artisan shops. Wander at your own pace, discover local ceramics and jewellery, or enjoy a long lunch and a taste of authentic Portuguese life.
For those who love being outdoors, you could join a guided walk through the surrounding mountains to discover the area’s beautiful landscapes and natural springs. There’s also the option of a jeep safari, complete with a distillery visit and lunch.
Spend a day by the sea - If you’re craving ocean air, the beautiful coastal town of Lagos is around 40 minutes away. Spend the day wandering its historic old town, enjoying a leisurely lunch, exploring hidden coves or walking the dramatic cliffside paths around Ponta da Piedade.
For a little more adventure, you could take a guided kayak tour along the coastline or head further west to Aljezur, known for its expansive sandy beaches and surf-friendly Atlantic waves.
Alternatively, make your way to Sagres, where wild beaches, rugged cliffs and sweeping ocean views offer a beautiful change of scenery.Massage & bodywork — take some time for yourself with a restorative massage or facial treatment.
Of course, you don’t need to go anywhere at all. Spend a slow afternoon beside the natural pool, find a hammock beneath the olive trees, lose yourself in a book or enjoy a conversation that lasts a little longer than planned.
There’s no pressure to make the most of every minute. This is your time, and you’re free to shape it in whatever way feels right for you.
Excursions and additional experiences are optional and may incur an extra cost. Activities are subject to availability and can be explored closer to the retreat.
-
The retreat is ideally located just inland which means that you benefit from the peace and quiet of the tranquil mountains yet are not far from the stunning coastline to the south and west.
If you wish to explore it is advised to rent a car so that you have the freedom to explore during the free time.
-
We intentionally keep our retreats intimate, welcoming no more than 11 guests. This allows us to create a warm, supportive atmosphere where everyone has the space to connect, unwind and feel truly held throughout the week.
With a smaller group, friendships tend to form naturally — whether you're travelling solo or coming with a friend — creating a sense of community while still leaving plenty of space for quiet moments and personal time.
-
Absolutely! We love welcoming both solo travellers and friends.
In fact, many of our guests come alone, and it often becomes one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
We intentionally keep our groups small to create a warm, supportive atmosphere where genuine connections develop naturally. By the end of the week, strangers have usually become friends, sharing meals, conversations, laughter and meaningful experiences together.
Whether you're looking to connect with others or simply enjoy some time to yourself, you'll have the space to do both.
There is never any pressure—just an invitation to be exactly as you are.
-
Absolutely not. This is your time away to retreat and you can choose to do as much or as little as you want. We actively encourage you to tune into your body and do what feels right for you, moment-to-moment, day-to-day.
-
The food will be vegetarian/vegan and is curated by our incredible chef.
The food will be filling, nourishing and all dietary requirements will be taken into account to make sure that your bodies are looked after in the absolute best way possible.

Your Host
/ Eliana
Eliana is passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where yoga feels accessible to everyone. Her classes are both dynamic and grounding, blending playful, embodied movement with slower, more restorative practices that invite you to soften and rest.
Her teaching is deeply influenced by the intersection of yoga, somatics, and the nervous system. By weaving together contemporary understanding with the ancient wisdom of yoga, she offers a space where you can reconnect with yourself in a more intuitive and supportive way.
Rather than focusing on how things look, Eliana’s approach encourages you to feel, to listen inward, to move in a way that meets your body where it is, and to explore your own path to wellbeing.
Her intention is to gently support self-healing, inner connection, and a deeper sense of steadiness — both on and off the mat.

A few days to step outside of the everyday, breathe a little deeper, and make space for the things that often get lost in the busyness of life. Held by nature and the company of like-minded women, there’s nothing you need to do or be other than arrive as you are.
I’d love for you to be part of it.
Let’s take a deep exhale together.
